The countdown to the 2025 World Indigenous Traditional Games continues. The cultural torch relay, which started across Taiwan on November 27, officially arrived at the CIP on December 4, where CIP Minister Ljaucu Zingrur led the welcome. The CIP conveyed its wish for the torch to light up Taiwan and urged everyone to support the athletes during the Games.
The 2025 World Indigenous Traditional Games Are Coming – Are You Ready? The Games torch kicked off its journey on November 27, arriving at the CIP on December 4, where Minister Ljaucu Zingrur personally headed the warm reception by the staff.
CIP Minister Ljaucu Zingrur: “This sporting event enables diverse exchanges in language and culture, helping us to enhance mutual understanding and harmony. We hope these three days will be a complete success.”
The torch team remained energetic on the eighth day of the relay. Departing early from the Datong Township Office in Yilan, they passed through the Wulai District Office before arriving at the CIP, and will continue south to Taoyuan and Hsinchu, ensuring the uninterrupted relay of the torch’s honor.
Ciwas Osiyang of the Torch Team: “We are all one big family. Sharing this honor, extending it from the international stage to all Indigenous groups across Taiwan, is what we hope to achieve together. This, above all, is what resonates most strongly with the public.”
Ljaucu Zingrur expressed that he hopes the torch will not only illuminate Indigenous communities but also the entire nation. He looks forward to uniting public attention on traditional Indigenous sports culture and invites everyone to support the athletes during the Games.
