The capital is Honolulu. Situated in the central Pacific, the state consists of eight main islands along with numerous smaller islands. Its total area spans 28,311 square kilometers, with 16,635 square kilometers of land. It lies approximately 6,500 kilometers from Taiwan, with a flight time of 9 to 10 hours. With a population of about 1.45 million, the main ethnic groups are Caucasians, Asian Americans (Chinese, Japanese, Filipino descent), Native Hawaiians, and various multi-racial groups. English and Hawaiian are the official languages, and Christianity is the main religion.

Development Overview

Originally the Kingdom of Hawaii, the monarchy was overthrown in 1893 and annexed by the United States in 1898 to become the 50th U.S. state in 1959. The state government is headed by the Governor, ensuring political stability within the American state governance system. The economy relies heavily on tourism and U.S. military base spending, attracting millions of visitors every year, mainly from the U.S. mainland, Japan, and other Asian countries. The agriculture mainly consists of pineapple, sugarcane, and coffee, although their proportion has declined. The social environment is characterized by openness and friendliness, with good overall public security.
